The greatest thing about being a mom is… being strong when both my kids were diagnosed with a very rare brain disease. One five years ago and another just last thanksgiving. I learnt to be strong from them when I got diagnosed with breast cancer. They bless me each day with their laughter, mischief and joy for life. They are the ones that give me the strength and purpose in life. If they can enjoy life with all the difficulties they face, then my illness is just a walk in the park. They make me a mom. LOVE AND GOD’S BLESSINGS upon them always. Happy Mother’s Day to all.
Having my children around me for as long as I can.
There are a lot of things that are great about being a Mom – how do you pick just one? God gave me the desires of my heart when he brought my children to me. He may not have used my body to create them but he definitely used my heart! There have been great times and even extremely difficult times. But God has used both to grow us as individuals and as a family. I love that even as teenagers they still want to have their one on one time with me, asking for and giving hugs and enjoying being together as a family. I enjoy watching them discover their individuality (even though sometimes I have to step back) and love that they each have a heart for GOD and for others.

The greatest thing about my mother is the little things that she does to show that she loves me. She did a HUGE thing and took me back home rent-free when I hit financial hard times, and instead of harping at me, she’s supported me. Then she goes and does little things like making me a pb&j sandwich for my lunch or leaves little sticky-notes on the mirror.

The Greatest Thing about my mother is…. my dad salary was 3$ a month(we were in india) and she raised 6 kids in that salary and she gave us education and we had a small house & farm. I remember my mom use to sell milk, sell the vegetables we grow at home, recycle anything and everything. Now, we are all happy and in a good position and my mom still saves by walking to a place where she could go in a car. She still thinks only about her kids health than hers. She is now 64. I love you mom. I say it here…and i will say that to her as well.

The greatest thing about being a mother is being able to teach my children through the experiences I introduce them to. Whether it’s a trip to the beach to play in the ocean and dig in the sand or a trip to the grocery store and taking the time to feel coconuts and pineapples or even a visit to our local library for storytime or to borrow a new book. The greatest thing about my Mother was that she was a christian and before she passed on she knew she was dying and wanted to be with me. She said I would have twin girls when I was able to have children. A year and a half later, I did! My girls are ten years old and I get to celebrate with them all the time and love to tell them that even though they never met their Grandma, she knew they would be mine. I miss you Mom! The greatest thing about my mother is her determination and perseverance. My mother is disabled. She has multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy, so life hasn’t been too easy on her. She also has had a very bad drug problem, and because of this she lost custody of my little sister and I in 2003. Since then, she has been in and out of jail, and now, she has officially been clean for an entire year! After all of that time I thought she would never get clean. But she has, and she has paid off all of her fines and gotten off of probation so that she can be in mine and my sister’s life again. I know this might not sound like such a great mother, and honestly, she wasn’t. But I’m so very proud of her for changing and making an effort to be the good mother she never was.
It’s great to be a mom. It’s a shame when Mom’s think that they are not valued by society–how long does a society last if no one’s willing to be a mom!

For me, the greatest thing about being a mother is that I know how much my children, Matt 17 and Grace 7, love me. I have been a single mom since right after my daughter was born and would, honestly, not change anything because my children and I are so close! We have constant struggles for money especially now that my son will be going away to college in August but somehow we manage to get through. My mother is an over-comer. What I mean by that is that she has battled with things that would bring most people, including herself, to tears. For years she lived with degenerating cartilage in her right hip and sometimes the pain would be too much to take. She would lie awake in pain night after night while her leg would spasm from a pinched nerve. In 2001 she had her hip replaced, but it didn’t solve much since the doctor who performed the surgery damaged a nerve. But she over came it. She refuses to use a cane, limping along after me at the mall on our day together once a week. She goes to Tai Chi to try to gain some strength in her leg. She strives to walk one bench further every time we go out. She is one of the strongest people I know. I, myself, was born with Dual Hip Dysplasia and she is my role model to overcome the pain I have after work.
The best gift is becoming a mother. I lost my mother at 16 from Cancer and being able to watch my kids grow up has been the best gift. There is no word to describe love when you have children and just being able to see them each and every day is a gift to me. I have been blessed with three angels and love them so much.

My mother is one word, “crazy,” That’s crazy in a good way folks, she has the best sense of humor, is young and hip, she’s got dance moves that would crack you up, and a warm, caring, giving heart. I love my Momma and wish I could give her everything that she deserves this Mother’s day, if only I was a billionaire!

You never know what you had until you lose one of them. I had two children and I lost my only son at age 29 to pneumonia. I love my daughter even more since I lost him. Being a Mother also brings heartache but God will see you through it all.

No matter the challenges that are thrown at us at every turn of the day my girls know I am there for them one hundred percent. When they try my patience and have me at my wits end that one smile or hug makes everything fade away and its just me and them. When they do the smallest things that make my heart swell with pride and tears form in my eyes I am overjoyed that they belong to me!!!

The greatest thing about my Mother is……. Just when I think I’ve hit bottom and there’s noone to turn to she always, always picks me back up! She taught me to be the best person and Mother I can be, she was a wonderful role model!

The best part of being a MOM is knowing even though your kids have grown up and moved out, they still need you and there seems to be a different type of love & respect. It’s a real joy to be both a mom and a grandmother.

The Greatest thing about my Mother is She raised 9 children on her own after my Father was killed. She thinks and does for others before she does anything for herself. She was a Mom to everyone. We lost her 2 years ago on March 7th due to Ovarian Cancer stage 4. Love and Miss Her so much…
Wow being a mother is one of the hardest jobs in the world but it also is one of the most rewarding one too I have three daughters and two sons.A mothers job is never done even when your kids are all grown up you still see them as your little kids The one thing I tell my kids is im always here day or night im a stay home mom but i am never off the clock i love my job and I wouldnt change it for the world

My mother has always been there for me and still is, she has extreme physical pain every day all day long every day and NEVER complains! It amazes me how she does it, shes always there for her children and Grandchildren no matter whats going on in her own life. I dont know what Id do without my mother!!! She hasnt had an easy life and finally was blessed with the most wonderful husband and after only 17 yrs with him he was taken from her during a freak accident, she still holds her head high and loves each day to the fullest :)She is the most unselfish person I know, she deserves pampering! the greatest thing about my mother is how much she loves her family, her strength to live in constant pain (with surviving a 3% survival rate brain surgery, living with atypical Tuberculosis, and other internal problems) the courage she displays to all that worry for her, and her will to move forward. She is an amazing person, and this simple comment doesn’t even come 1% close to how much love i have of for her. I am 27 years old with 5 kids and I am proud to say I love my mommy.

The greatest thing about my mother is that she is always there for me. She did not hold me back when I met my American husband, and supported me when I decided to move to the USA from the UK. Even though there is a time difference, I know that I can call on her, and count on her being there for me any time of the day or night. She still knows me the best, and is not only the best Mom, but also a terrific Grandmother to my 3 kids. (I just wish she would move to the USA too!!)

The greatest thing about being a mother is knowing that no matter how bad your day at work was, how hurtful the argument with your husband was, how bad of a hair day you may be having, or that you haven’t put on eye shadow since the day she was born…my 3-year old thinks I’m the most beautiful person in the world. And to hear those three little words, “I Love You,” from her sweet voice, makes all the bad things seem not so important anymore. The greatest thing about being a mother for me is that I get to be called “Mommy” by the sweetest, most snuggly little boys I have ever met. Every day with them is an adventure, and I love to watch from my front row seat as they learn new things…sometimes with my help.
