IN MY LIFE:
Mother’s Day can be a hard holiday. Not only is it one where a lot of mothers don’t get to celebrate in the way they hoped, but it can also bring up a lot of emotions for people. Some have lost their mothers or I had hoped of becoming a mother by now, but have not.
One population I especially want to celebrate are the women who fill the role of a mother figure in our lives, but do not have the title. That can be a mentor, a foster mom, and aunt or sometimes even just a good friend. to all of you who have ever cared for someone the way a mom should, I celebrate and salute you today.
So regardless of whether Sunday goes the way you had hoped, I pray that right now in this moment you feel loved and appreciated. Happy Mother’s Day!
PRAYER FOCUS: Justice
Our God is a just and loving God and as such, I pray you look for ways to extend love and make things right with those around you this weekend.
